I think the first cake I ever made was the Cookies And Chocolate Tart. They were my beginnings in the pastry world and also in the kitchen, it was at school and I remember making it with other classmates, all in our uniform… many years ago and still today it is one of my favorite desserts.

Cookies And Chocolate Tart
- 2 packages of square cookies
- 1 chocolate tablet for desserts
- ½ liter of milk
- 4 eggs
- 75 grams of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of fine cornmeal
- 1 glass of milk to wet the cookies
- Chocolate or colored noodles, candies, marshmallows… to decorate.
How to make the cookie and chocolate cake
We put a chopped chocolate tablet in a saucepan and melt gently. On the other hand we mix the eggs together with the milk, the fine cornmeal and the sugar. We add this mixture to the chocolate, we have to keep moving until we get a thick cream. Remove from the heat and beat for a few seconds with the mixer, in this way we will have a finer cream.
We put the glass of milk on a plate and wet the cookies slightly before placing them on a tray or fountain. We will not make the milk hot because then the cookies would melt. We put a layer of cookies, on top of a little chocolate cream, I put it hot (you can see the smoke in the images), with a couple of tablespoons we will have enough, and we spread. On top we put another layer of biscuits, then another layer of chocolate… until we finish with a layer of chocolate. In the last layer, we will be generous with the chocolate and spread it both on the surface and on the sides.
With these amounts of cream, it is enough to make five layers of 12 cookies. If you need a bigger cake, you just have to multiply the quantities by two.
We keep in the fridge, we can prepare it even the day before. Once cold you can decorate to your liking biscuit cake with chocolate cream.
