Juventus midfielder Milos Teodosic has been named as a replacement for the injured Mario Mandzukic, with the Serie A side set to name him on Wednesday.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed Teodrosic will be named as the team’s third-choice striker ahead of the new season.
Teodrosics long-term future at Juventus is uncertain, with Juventus expected to sign a replacement in the next week or so.
He had already played a part in Juventus’ recent win over Sassuolo and will be expected to lead the line against Milan.
Milos Teic is expected to be named on Wednesday in the Juventus team that will play Milan in the Turin derby, according to Juventus coach Massimo Moratti.
He told reporters on Tuesday that Teodrasic will start against the Rossoneri on Wednesday but the decision will be taken after the first-leg, but Allegri said Teodiosic will get the nod for the Turino clash.
The 24-year-old joined Juventus in 2014, arriving from Roma on loan.
His loan spell at the Stadio San Paolo was interrupted by a thigh injury but he returned for the 2014-15 campaign, where he scored seven goals in 18 games, including the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Teo-Borghini is the first player from his father’s squad to make his debut in the derby and he could make his first start for Juve on Wednesday, as well as his first Serie A start in three years.
Teo-Boghini joined Juventus as a 16-year old and played in five of Juventus’ 18 Serie A games last season.
The Juventus captain said that his first goal for Juvi was to give himself “an opportunity to win the derby”.
“We were really happy to get a goal and now we have to go on and do better,” Teodinosi said.
